Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the VP of Programs for The Publicity Club of New England, also known as the Pub Club. The Pub Club is the region’s most well-known and oldest professional organization for PR, communications and marketing professionals.

As the VP of Programs, I was responsible for creating educational, fun and inspiring programs throughout the year.

Some of my favorite programs were:

  • The Once and Future PR Professional” with speakers from SHIFT, Boston University, Bentley University, Fast Company and The Connective Good
  • WBUR studio tours
  • “Social Media Gone Rogue” with speakers from Boston University, Conover Tuttle Pace, IZEA and Digitas

The Pub Club also hosts the Bell Ringer Awards in June, which recognizes excellence in communications in every field and industry, across all forms of media. This year the ceremony was at the House of Blues and a good time was had by all.

I’m also excited to announce that beginning in September, I will officially be the Pub Club’s President Elect for the 2015-2016 year! As the President Elect, I will have the opportunity to shadow the Pub Club President, Karyn Martin, who is an Executive Vice President at 451 Marketing. After shadowing her for one year, I will take over as President for the 2016-2017 year.

Serving as the VP of Programs has been a rewarding experience and I have met some great people along the way. I’m looking forward to my new role as President Elect and supporting the Pub Club in the years to come.
